How do I use the Group By menu?

  1. Tap
  2. Tap Group By.
  3. Tap the preferred grouping option.
  4. Each of these selections will be organized alphabetically.
  5. Tap to return and group the topics or assignments.

Desktop

Across the top of the screen are the Layout, Group By and Sort By options.

These options allow you to customize how you see the topics and assignments in your current view.

How do I use the Layout menu?

Condensed View

The Layout menu allows you to change from a Card view to a Condensed view, providing you a broader view of your topics and assignments by reducing the card size.

To change from the Card view to the Condensed view:

  1. Click on Layout at the top of the center pane.
  2. In the Layout drop-down, select Condensed.
  3. Layout Options menu

  4. Click to view.

The page now displays in the Condensed view. The Condensed view groups topics and assignments depending on how you specify using the Group By drop-down described below.

Tile View

The Layout menu allows you to change from a Card view to a Tile view, plan coverage across the week, do basic editing, and drag and drop stories across columns.

To change from the Card view to the Tile view:

  1. Click on Layout at the top of the center pane.
  2. In the Layout drop-down, select Tile.
  3. Layout Options menu

  4. Click to view.

The page now displays in the Tile view. The Tile view groups topics and assignments by vertical column, depending on how you specify the Group By drop-down described below.

Map View

The Layout menu also allows you to change to a Map view allowing you to track coverage geographically.

To change from the Card view to the Map view:

  1. Click on Layout at the top of the center pane.
  2. In the Layout drop-down, select Map.
  3. Layout Options menu

  4. Click to view.

The page now displays in the Map view, showing your topics and coverage assignments on an interactive map.

How do I use the Group By menu?

The Group By menu allows you to change from the default grouping by Date, to group your topics by Owner, Status, or Desk.

When you have selected the Tile view in the Layout drop-down, the groupings will be shown in vertical columns.

For example, they can be grouped by Date in the Tile layout:

  • tile view
  • Click to view.

You can move topics from one column to another when grouping by date by clicking and dragging the topic.

Grouping by Owner in the Tile layout will sort the columns by the user:

  • Click to view.

How do I use the Sort By menu?

The Sort By menu allows you to change how topics are sorted within their grouping selected in the Group By menu.

The default selection is Date, and you can also sort topics by various other fields.

Each of these selections will be organized alphabetically within their grouping.

How do I change the order of my groups?

To change the order of the Groups:

  1. Click to sort by descending.
    • The arrow will change to match your sort order.
    • Click to sort by ascending.
    • The arrow will change to match your sort order.
